Takers Save the World Guide
Takers Save the World covers one of the enemies that can turn an ordinary mission into a mess if it is ignored. Takers is much more important than a normal Husk because its behaviour can pressure players, structures or the objective in ways that basic enemies cannot.
Learning Takers Save the World is mainly about recognising the enemy quickly and reacting before it gets value. You do not need a perfect endgame loadout, but you do need to know what the threat is trying to do and which part of your defence it can punish.
How to recognise Takers

Takers are floating Mist Monsters with a distinctive silhouette and aggressive movement. They can close distance quickly and pressure players rather than simply walking the same path as normal Husks toward a wall.
Where Takers appears
They appear in combat waves, Encampments, Ventures, Dungeons and other Save the World activities. Quests can also ask specifically for Taker eliminations, which makes recognising them quickly useful outside normal defence play.
Why Takers is dangerous
Takers can disrupt a player who is repairing, reviving or focusing on the objective. Their mobility makes them harder to control with a normal ground trap lane, and ignoring one can turn a manageable fight into a scramble if it repeatedly attacks the same player.
How to deal with Takers
Keep moving, track the Taker visually and punish it when it commits to an attack. Ranged burst damage is useful because you do not need to chase the enemy through your own build, and teammates should focus it if it is repeatedly diving somebody near the objective.
- Mark or call out the threat when playing with other people.
- Fight it before it reaches the centre of the objective defence.
- Keep line of sight when possible so it cannot attack structures for free.
- Use burst damage and crowd control when the enemy is creating immediate pressure.
When to prioritise Takers
Prioritise a Taker when it is actively attacking a player who needs to repair, revive or hold a lane. If it is hovering far from the objective and not creating pressure, a Smasher or Flinger damaging the actual defence may deserve attention first.
As missions scale into Canny Valley, Twine Peaks and Ventures, Takers Save the World becomes increasingly important because a single dangerous enemy can open a defence for the rest of the wave. Strong players still clear normal Husks, but they constantly scan for Mist Monsters and other special threats that need a faster response.
Build with dangerous enemies in mind
A good fort gives you time to react. Trap tunnels, layered walls, clear firing positions and sensible pathing make Takers Save the World easier because the enemy has fewer opportunities to reach the objective untouched. Do not create a maze that blocks your own shots or makes it difficult to reach the side being attacked.
For broader progression help, see the Canny Valley guide and Save the World traps database. Epic’s official Fortnite Save the World page also carries current information about the mode.
If you are learning Takers Save the World, spend the first minute reading the terrain before committing large amounts of building material.
The biggest improvement in Takers Save the World usually comes from preparing for the objective instead of reacting after the Husks are already on top of it.
Public groups can make Takers Save the World faster, but a clear build and sensible target priority still matter even with four players.
As Power Level rises, Takers Save the World rewards players who combine weapon damage, abilities and traps rather than relying on only one part of a loadout.
Takers Save the World also becomes easier when you arrive with enough ammunition, building materials and crafting ingredients to finish the mission without a farming detour. Check your backpack before launch, keep one reliable weapon for normal Husks and save your strongest burst damage for Mist Monsters or other threats that can disrupt the objective. That small amount of preparation is especially useful in Canny Valley, Twine Peaks and Ventures, where a weak setup can turn a straightforward objective into a much longer fight.
