How to Complete Regicide in Save the World
To complete Regicide in Save the World, finish King Me first, enter the Mythic Storm King portal in Twine Peaks, defeat the boss and collect the Mythic Schematic Cache. Regicide is the one-time boss quest that follows the initial King Me prerequisite.
Regicide is where the progression chain stops being a normal high-level mission challenge and becomes the actual Mythic Storm King fight. The most important preparation is knowing the sequence: five crystals, first horn, five more crystals, second horn, then the final damage phase, while Mini-Bosses force the storm inward.
How to complete Regicide

- Finish King Me so Regicide appears in your quest log.
- Reach the Mythic Storm King portal in Twine Peaks and queue the encounter.
- Destroy five Storm King crystals while controlling Mini-Boss pressure.
- Build to the first exposed horn and destroy it before the horn timer expires.
- Repeat the crystal cycle and destroy the second horn.
- Burn the Storm King during the final damage phase.
- Pick up the Mythic Schematic Cache before returning to Homebase.
The fight sequence you need to learn
You complete Regicide by clearing the entire Mythic encounter, not by simply entering the portal. The reliable mental model is five crystals, horn, five crystals, horn, final damage. Mini-Bosses appear during the crystal stages and are not optional distractions because the storm closes while a Mini-Boss is alive.
Do not destroy the fifth crystal while the team is scattered or multiple players are down. The horn window is short, and the Storm King can fall in a direction that forces the squad to build immediately.
Why horn phases decide most runs
The horn is the hard gate when you complete Regicide. Crystal damage can be excellent and the run can still fail if the squad reaches the horn late. As soon as crystal five breaks, look for the Storm King’s fall direction, build upward without blocking teammates, and switch to your horn melee weapon before you arrive.
The first horn is exposed higher than the second, so pre-positioning and clean builds matter. Avoid editing another player’s ramp or placing a roof piece that stops the squad from jumping onto the horn.
Mini-Boss control and storm pressure
A common reason players fail to complete Regicide is treating Mini-Bosses like normal side enemies. While one is active, the storm keeps squeezing the arena. Kill it quickly, then use the extra breathing room to resume crystal damage and revive anyone who is down.
- Call the Mini-Boss as soon as it spawns.
- Use burst damage rather than chasing ordinary Husks.
- Revive only when the path is safe enough to finish the revive.
- Do not let the storm push the squad into the damaging water around the arena.
The final phase
After the second horn breaks, complete Regicide by switching immediately to full boss damage. Save high-impact abilities and gadgets for this phase if your loadout is built around them. The fight also has an overall enrage/time limit, so a team that reaches the final phase late cannot afford a slow cleanup.
When the Storm King dies, look for the Mythic cache drop and collect it. Regicide is not finished in a useful sense if you leave the reward sitting on the arena floor.
Quick answer
To complete Regicide, clear the full Mythic Storm King sequence and collect the Mythic Schematic Cache. The key order is five crystals, horn, five crystals, horn, final burn.
Epic calls the Mythic Storm King one of Save the World’s hardest fights and the exclusive source of the Mythic weapon set. See the official roadmap.
Once you complete Regicide, future Mythic weapon runs are controlled by the weekly Scions of the Storm King quest rather than King Me.
