To complete King Me in Save the World, first finish Twine Peaks Storm Shield Defense 5, then eliminate the required Mini-Bosses in successful Power Level 140+ missions. King Me is the one-time prerequisite that leads directly to Regicide and your first Mythic Storm King weapon attempt.
The first King Me version is not the same thing as the later weekly Scions quests. Your goal is not to beat the Storm King yet. You are proving the prerequisite by finding qualifying Mini-Bosses in high-level missions and making sure those missions end successfully.

Best missions for the Mini-Boss objective
The safest way to complete King Me is to choose 140+ missions that advertise a Mini-Boss modifier or that reliably reach a defense phase where an Epic Mini-Boss can spawn. Four-player missions are useful because Mini-Boss pressure is common there, but do not launch a mission your group cannot realistically finish.
If the Mini-Boss spawns, focus it before the defense collapses. You need the elimination and a successful mission result. A fast Mini-Boss kill followed by a failed objective is a poor use of time if the quest does not credit the run.
What counts as a Mini-Boss
King Me is looking for the purple-name Epic Mini-Boss enemy, not an ordinary Smasher, Taker, Blaster or Flinger. A normal Mist Monster can be dangerous, but it will not satisfy the Mini-Boss requirement used to complete King Me.
Check mission modifiers before launching. If a node explicitly lists an Epic Mini-Boss modifier, you know the mission can provide the target without relying on guesswork.
Why the quest sometimes looks stuck
If you eliminate a qualifying target and the counter does not move, the first thing to check is whether you actually complete King Me progress only after a successful 140+ mission. Verify both the zone Power Level and the mission result. Playing a lower-level mission or abandoning before the rewards screen can leave the counter unchanged.
- Confirm the mission is PL140 or higher.
- Confirm the enemy was an Epic Mini-Boss, not a normal Mist Monster.
- Finish the mission successfully.
- Return to Homebase and check the quest counter before starting another run.
What happens after King Me
When you complete King Me, the one-time Regicide quest becomes the next step. Regicide is the actual instruction to defeat the Mythic Storm King. You still need normal access to the Twine portal, including the Power Level requirement used for public matchmaking.
Do not keep farming Mini-Bosses once Regicide is active unless you need them for another challenge. At that point your progression blocker has moved from the prequest to the boss fight itself.

Before another run focused on complete King Me, check the exact prerequisite, weapon role or fight transition described above instead of changing several things at once. Make sure the quest counter has updated in Homebase, repair and reload the weapons you actually need for this phase, carry enough materials for movement and horn access, and confirm the whole squad knows what happens immediately after the current objective is finished.
This matters because complete King Me is usually lost at the transition rather than during ordinary Husk clearing. A team can have enough raw damage and still fail because crystal five was triggered with someone down, a Mini-Boss was left alive, the horn weapon was not ready, or the reward quest was never active.
