How to Unlock the Canny Valley Storm King
To unlock the Canny Valley Storm King, progress the Canny Valley main questline to Page 18, complete 20,000 Leagues, then start the Battle Royal quest. Battle Royal sends you into Enter the Portal, the story version of the Storm King fight.
This is not the Mythic Storm King. The Canny boss is the campaign encounter around Power Level 70 and is required for Canny story progression. Mythic weapons come from the separate Twine Peaks Mythic version later in the game.

The exact quest before the boss
20,000 Leagues is the direct prerequisite used to unlock the Canny Valley Storm King. Its objective is to inspect seven SEA-Bots in a 70+ Ghost Town zone. When it is complete, the next main quest is Battle Royal.
If you are still several pages earlier in Canny Valley, there is no shortcut around the story chain. Continue the main quests until Page 18.
Battle Royal is the Storm King quest
Battle Royal has the objective to enter the portal and defeat the Storm King. This is where players who want to unlock the Canny Valley Storm King finally get the boss mission.
Do not confuse the quest name with Fortnite Battle Royale mode. It is a Save the World Canny Valley story quest.
Canny Storm King versus Mythic Storm King
The Canny Valley fight is a story boss and is much more forgiving than the Twine Mythic version. It teaches crystals, horns and final boss damage without the full Mythic storm and Mini-Boss pressure.
Beating Canny does not award a Mythic schematic. The Twine Mythic quest chain is separate and begins much later.
If Battle Royal is not appearing
If you cannot unlock the Canny Valley Storm King, check whether 20,000 Leagues is fully turned in and whether another Canny main quest is still active. Track the main quest rather than a side quest and launch the required zone type.
After the story objective completes, return to Homebase so the next quest can populate.
